Salient Features of MIS

 

 Farmer can choose cropping pattern of his choice with a flexibility of MIS.

 

 Scheme is bankable for the farmers.

 

 Government of Gujarat placed the subsidy at the disposal of GGRC. Subsidy is released by GGRC after installation of the MI System at farmer’s field.

 

 Payment to MIS supplier on satisfactory report by the farmer and Third Party Inspection Agencies.

 

 Agronomical services for 1 year and system maintenance services for 5 years are rendered to the beneficiary farmers.

 

 Insurance coverage equivalent to cost of MIS for MIS components and the farmer as well except natural death for one year.

 

 Maintenance and repairs of MIS System by the supplier.

 

 Supply of other agro inputs through GSFC depots.

 

 Increasing the scope of MIS by implementing the scheme under MIS Partner Model, wherein NGOs, Credit Cooperative Societies, Milk Cooperative Societies, Horticulture Cooperative Society, GMDC, APMCs, Corporate bodies etc. act as MIS Partner and provide additional financial assistance to the beneficiary farmers.

 

Empowerment of tribal farmers through Cluster Approach Model has also been taken up in the tribal belts of Gujarat, where farmer is facilitated right from seed procurement to the marketing of harvest, thus ensuring Technology Transfer.

 

 Capacity Building of farmers through collaboration with IWMI-TATA on Drip Maintenance, Water-Scheduling and Fertigation has been taken up in the Narmada District on pilot basis.
